Until now we’ve hoped to send you some good news about this year’s Newcomershow, but the situation in Germany is still very complicated.
Since the pandemic is not over yet and the worldwide travel restrictions implemented by governments are still there, we have to postpone this year's festival. Making plans for an international festival is just too uncertain.
2020 was a tough year for all of us and we know that the cancellation of so many events worldwide is dramatically affecting artists. So, you can probably imagine that for us as the organization team it was also a pretty difficult decision: the organizer and location of the Newcomershow, Krystallpalast Varieté Leipzig is still closed and we cannot start preparing the festival.
At the same time, all applications from last year remain valid for the selection of the Newcomershow 2022. As soon as the applications for next year´s edition will be open, we will inform you by email and on Facebook / Instagram. Until then, we sincerely cross our fingers for all of us and send you positive energy to get through this difficult period.

Founded in 2000, the Newcomershow has established an exciting entry into the prestigious world of German Variety. For an intense week of rehearsals and nine brilliant evenings of performance, rising artists from all over the world meet at Krystallpalast Varieté in Leipzig to share passion, dedication and inspiration.
Judged by agents and directors from renown German Theatres, the Newcomershow offers prizes, professional support and priceless experience.
The Newcomershow presents nine spectacular evenings of comedy, acrobatic artistry and innovation.
We offer both new and seasoned professionals (of any age) a chance to deput their talent in German Variety.
After Sunday´s Gala show, the Festival provides a meet-and-greet buffet dinner where artists can personally meet the leading agents and directors from German Variety.
The festival prizes are in form of contract offers from the largest and most prestigious Variety theatres in Germany. Prize winners are guarenteed contract offers - which means you´ve made it! You´re performing in German Variety Theatre.
Not only that, but throughout the festival weeks, artists will have access to support and advice from our fabulous and experienced staff on anything from professionalism in emailing to business card design and how to receive and sign contracts.
