Application Newcomershow 2023

The Newcomershow is an international variety festival for artists from all over the world. In one week with four show days artists have the possibility to get to know the german variety scene. There is *no age limit* (at least 18 years old) for participation. The only requirement for entering the competition is that the artist must not have been under contract with their act at a German variety theatre.

What is the Newcomershow?

The Newcomershow is an international variety festival which is organized by Krystallpalast Varieté Leipzig and regulary attended by over 70 agents, bookers and artistic directors. It is also a competition.

On four show days artists can present their acts for the first time in a German theatre. At the Gala show on Sunday evening, a Jury consisting of leading German Variety theatres and circus experts will award the winner with a contract at Krystallpalast Varieté Leipzig. Furthermore, there will be special awards given by well known German variety theaters in combination with contracts in the respective theatre. Also the audience will vote for their favorite performance.

What´s the aim of the festival?
The aim of the Newcomershow is to present new artists and extraordinary performances to the German variety scene and allow artists to establish careers in Germany. We´d also like to give artists a first impression about how Variety works in Germany

There will also be several workshops offered for the participants. Artists have the possibility to get in direct contact with the Artistic Directors and bookers of the leading German variety theatres.

Costs
Krystallpalast Varieté Leipzig carries the full costs for accommodation and food. Furthermore, travel costs are paid partly by Krystallpalast Varieté after the artists arrival. Travel costs will only be paid to artists performing on stage at the Newcomershow.

The following travel costs will be paid:
Zone 1: Germany 200, 00 €
Zone 2: Europe 400, 00 €
Zone 3: World 700, 00 €
Transport costs for props are already included in these fees.

Pandemic Conditions
To participate in the festival, a full vaccination protection against Covid19 must be available with a vaccine approved in Germany. A copy of the vaccination passport must be submitted with a possible acceptance to the festival.

Agreement
By submitting this form I agree with the entrance requirements. The competitors assent to the use of the submitted photo/video material for promotional purposes and/or for its publication on the official homepage. All submitted visual materials (photos) is retained for the duration of the event for all printed material or electronic media by the organisers.

The competitors accept that the rehearsals and performances will be recorded and that no claim for recompense thereby results for them. The usufruct of this material (photos) is retained by the organisers. Krystallpalast Varieté is not liable for accidents, bodily harm and illness during the residence in Leipzig. For damage or burglary of props and costumes the Krystallpalast Varieté is also not liable.

During the application process the uploaded photos will be stored in an amazon cloud.
